Terms of Service
Effective September 3, 2026 · Version 2026-09-03
1. The service
Docket investigates crypto transactions for individuals and firms. It assesses cases, organizes evidence, and prepares tax calculations, reports, and workpapers for professional review. Free assessments provisionally map likely scope, data gaps, and complexity. A paid investigation begins only after an authorized customer accepts a fixed case quote or applies an approved full waiver.
2. Professional responsibility
Docket is not a law firm, accounting firm, tax-return preparer, fiduciary, broker, or financial adviser. Its output is not a filed return or a substitute for professional judgment. The customer and any qualified professionals they engage remain responsible for verifying source completeness, resolving client facts, choosing return positions, satisfying professional standards, and approving any filing or advice.
3. Customer responsibilities
You must have authority to submit the information in an engagement and approve charges for the customer workspace. If you act for another person, you must have their permission to submit their information. You must provide accurate known facts, disclose material missing sources, protect account credentials, and review Docket’s questions and outputs. Submit public wallet addresses and permitted records only. Never submit seed phrases, private keys, signing credentials, or credentials that allow asset movement.
4. Quotes, payment, and cancellation
The accepted quote is the fee for the described investigation scope. Promo codes may be limited, expire, or be deactivated; they have no cash value. Payment is processed by Stripe. You authorize Docket to begin work immediately after payment or waiver confirmation. Before paid work begins, contact support@docketcrypto.com to request cancellation. Once the investigation workspace has been provisioned, fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or when Docket cannot provide the purchased service. Scope changes requested by the customer may require a new written quote.
5. Data and permitted use
You retain ownership of submitted records and client data. You grant Docket the limited right to host, copy, transform, and transmit that data as necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the service. Docket does not use submitted customer data to train Docket or third-party AI models. When Docket processes personal data for a business customer, the Data Processing Addendum forms part of these Terms. Docket retains its software, tools, templates, and general methods. Subject to payment and these Terms, you may use case-specific deliverables for the applicable engagement.
6. Third-party services and automated systems
Docket may use blockchain nodes, data providers, model providers, payment processors, and communications vendors. External data can be incomplete or wrong, and automated systems can make mistakes. Docket preserves sources, uncertainty, and validation results where practical, but does not guarantee that every transaction, protocol, valuation, authority, or tax treatment will be identified correctly.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use Docket to violate law, invade another person’s privacy, access wallets or accounts without authorization, move assets, reverse engineer protected service components, disrupt the service, evade security controls, or submit malicious content.
8. Confidentiality and security
Docket will use commercially reasonable safeguards and will use customer confidential information only to provide and protect the service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. No online system is completely secure. You must notify Docket promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
9. Disclaimers and limits
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. Docket disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Docket will not be liable for indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, or consequential damages, lost profits, penalties, or lost data. Docket’s aggregate liability for a paid case will not exceed the amount paid for that case. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
10. Suspension and termination
Docket may suspend access to address security threats, unlawful use, nonpayment, or material breach. Either party may stop using the service. Sections that by their nature should survive—including payment, ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—remain effective after termination.
11. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction in California will hear disputes unless the parties agree otherwise in writing. Material changes apply prospectively and will be identified by a new effective date or version. Questions may be sent to legal@docketcrypto.com.
